Purposes and legal bases of data processing and categories of recipients
We process your personal data to fulfil the contract concluded with you and to provide you with our services. This is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
Where necessary, we transfer your personal data for one or more of the purposes mentioned to processors and the following other recipients:
Other SportJoe users
External hosting companies for our services, applications and tools
Storage period and deletion
We store your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law to the extent and for as long as this is necessary for the processing purposes set out in this privacy policy. We then delete your personal data, unless we are legally obliged or entitled to retain it for longer. In Europe, retention periods are generally between 6 and 10 years (e.g. for contracts, communications and business letters). Where legally permitted or required, we restrict the processing of your data instead of deleting it (e.g. by blocking it). This applies in particular where we may still need the data for further performance of the contract or for asserting or defending legal claims, or where retention is otherwise required or permitted by law. The decisive criterion for the duration of the restriction is then the statutory limitation or retention periods. Once these periods have expired, the data is deleted.
Embedded maps and videos
We have embedded content from Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) on our pages, namely YouTube videos and Google Maps. This content is stored by Google and can be accessed directly from our website. Where possible for YouTube, it is embedded in “enhanced privacy mode”, i.e. no data about you as a user is transferred to YouTube unless you play the videos. Data is only transferred when you play the videos; we have no influence on this data transfer. The legal basis for displaying the videos and maps is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (a) GDPR, i.e. the content is only embedded with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
By visiting the website, Google receives the information that you have accessed the relevant page of our website. Basic data such as IP address and timestamp are also transmitted. This happens regardless of whether you are logged in to a Google user account or have no account. If you are logged in to Google, your data is assigned directly to your account. If you do not want this, you must log out before activating the content. Google stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such evaluation takes place in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise it, you must contact Google.
The information collected is stored on Google servers, including in the USA. For these cases, the provider states that it has committed to complying with applicable data protection laws for international data transfers.
Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by Google can be found in its privacy policy. There you will also find further information on your rights and settings options to protect your privacy:
